Sustainable quality: Q-NOVA® for Pompea
Technology at the service of greener fashion
Sustainability and transparency are two themes that can no longer be ignored. The products we make, especially clothing and underwear, must start looking more at the environment. A circular economy system that limits waste and the use of virgin raw materials must be implemented as soon as possible. For us and for the planet.
This means rethinking the production system and the supply chain as we have understood it up to now. But it also means rethinking the way we dress, making more conscious choices , paying more attention to the origin of the product and the way it is made.
Pompea has chosen the path of investing in more sustainable fashion for the planet. As?
An example is the ECO-FRIENDLY Collection made with Fulgar's innovative Q-NOVA® yarn.
WHAT IS Q-NOVA®?
The ECO-FRIENDLY collection was created by Pompea's team of designers and all the garments are characterized by the use of Q-NOVA® recycled fiber by Fulgar . What are the characteristics of this yarn?
Q-NOVA® is an eco-sustainable nylon 6.6 fiber obtained from regenerated raw materials and which responds to real traceability needs, so that the end user always knows with certainty what he has bought and which process phases it has gone through. This is the only way to make truly informed choices.
Fulgar developed Q-NOVA® with the aim of:
- reduce CO2 emissions
- consume fewer water resources
- use energy from renewable sources
The yarn is obtained exclusively from regenerated raw materials through a mechanical process - the MCS process - which does not involve the use of chemical materials.
In fact, Q-NOVA® is made up of more than half of waste (textile processing waste), which could not be reused in any other way and should be disposed of as waste. Sustainability rhymes with quality! In fact, the Q-NOVA® yarn allows you to create underwear and hosiery collections with a lower environmental impact. It is traceable and with the same qualities as a virgin raw material:
-> Lightness: lighter fabrics under the same conditions compared to Cotton or Polyester fabrics;
-> Breathability: excellent moisture management performance;
-> Resistance and colours: great solidity and dyeing yield.
REAL TRACEABILITY
Transparency and traceability are essential conditions for verifying the impact of the entire supply chain, and are therefore an important distinctive feature of the product. In fact, they allow the consumer to verify the actual origin, the impact of each production process and, therefore, to make an informed choice.
Q-NOVA® has already obtained various certifications regarding traceability and environmental impact assessment along the entire production chain, such as Global Recycled Standard, EU Ecolabel and has become part of the HIGG INDEX, the evaluation index of the environmental impact of the entire life cycle of a garment designed by SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition).
How is traceability developed? Through a special ingredient, inserted within the polyamide itself, the innovative ID (Identity) traceability system designed by Fulgar allows the authenticity of the recycled origin of the yarn to be verified at any time .
On the Pompea website and on the QR code found on the packaging you can find out all the information on the creation of the item purchased.
You can find this yarn in the Pompea ECO-FRIENDLY collection. This is in fact made with Made in Italy recycled fibre, to offer a more sustainable and traceable line of garments and underwear. A line that always maintains the iconic Real Comfort Pompea , thanks to versatile, elastic and easily adaptable garments. Friends of yours, and of the planet.
